TRANSFER NEWS!

September 17, 2018

This week was pretty crazy. Last Monday was probably the worst day of our lives, because we literally walked about a million kilometers around Maseru. We somehow found ourselves in all the places that have been striking, and all so Ah Sam could buy some gummy snakes. At a KFC with a broken ice cream machine, we got a call from the zone leaders saying Elder Ntaka is going AP, so we had to get him across the border and get all his stuff sorted out immediately, so we didn't even get the chance to do any Pday things. We have had Elder Nielsen with us all week, which has been a lot of fun actually, but very crowded.

Transfer news got me shook. President Thompson called and we all put the phone on speaker. He told me I'm going to Ezekeni 2 with Elder Reay!!! But then he had to call back because there were 2 drunk Asians fighting really loudly, but when he called me back, he said he was just lying and that he is really sending me to open an area in Bluff. This area was open years ago but got shut down because of bogus missionaries. I understand that because it is right on the beach, so it's a good thing that I am not tempted by the beach. My new companion is Elder Atkinson. I'm super sad to leave Warner and I'm also scared to be starting literally from scratch, but I am up for the challenge. I just hope Presidents impression is right haha..... ha..

We had 105 people at church this week! That is a big improvement from our 55 last week. It is really too bad I am leaving now. We also have two baptisms next week that I won't be able to go to.:(

Well, I'm out of time. I got a haircut and the Pakistani dude gave me a fresh line haha. Didn't expect that but it happened. So. That is that.

Love you all!

Garbage

Cough, Cough........ Anddddddddddddd the Water is out AGAIN.

September 10, 2018

Well, Another week has passed. How crazy is it that I am almost done with my second transfer? I'm actually really scared for transfer news because we all think Elder Warner is going to get a new companion and go open a new area in TY, and I am going to be a trainer. We are getting 40 new missionaries in the next two transfers so the majority of the mission is going to be training. Ish.
All of us have been pretty sick this week and I don't know if it is from the change in seasons or just the dust flying around from the 40 mph wind, but we have been vegetables. Even on the days we tried to get out and work, it was really hard to focus on anything. or breathe even haha. Most days, Elder Warner was asleep on his bead trying to recover, but I couldn't sleep so I put together a 750 piece puzzle of Victoria falls:') hahahaaa.... so is life.
Yesterday we trekked up to the two towers from Lord of the Rings to try to find a man, Botsane, who has been coming to church but hasn't been visited by the missionaries. His house is literally at the top of the mountain, but it was Sunday so we took bikes. He started coming to our church because he heard something that he was looking for. He has been to every church in Maseru, but doesn't feel like he has learned how to achieve salvation and that is what he is most worried about. GOLDEN!! Super excited for the journey this guy is about to discover.
We found some Salt Lake City shirts for dirt cheap at mr. Price, and took some spicy squad pics. Enjoy!
Other than being sick, freezing, and watching the Book of Mormon animated classics, that is about all that happened this week! Until next time:)
Love you all!

And it came to pass....

Karabo!!!
I didn't know what to title my email but I felt like it needed one.
This whole email thing is really hard for me because as soon as i place my fingers on the keyboard, I forget everything that happened the past week.
I love pretty much everything about Lesotho. I mean, sure we had a hurricane last night, and sure our power and water are out, and sure people yell at us when we are in taxis because we are white, but There is still so much good. I love this place!
I got to go on an exchange this week with Elder Lowe, it was pretty sweet! We got to put some promising people on baptismal date! I got a call in the middle of the day from a ward member asking for a blessing, so we traveled into town so we could give her a blessing at her office haha. Turns out she was fine (even though she said she needed the blessing because she was dying) but she wanted comfort, because she kept getting in wrecks with her car haha. I think we should have given her car a blessing haha.
We have learned this week to not give up on people! Mpolokeng, a lady with very limited English read alma 7 this last week and wants to be baptized so bad. We thought she wasn't progressing because she never kept commitments, but she decided to read and miracles are happening now. She is  going to be baptized on October 7th which is perfect because that is her birthday! How crazy is that!
Bokang is someone we have been meeting with for a while. We had a lesson on the Plan of Salvation and It was very powerful and he gave us his honest thoughts with how he thought we were mad men when we first gave him the book of mormon, but now he knows it is true. He wants to be baptized now, but he wont commit to a date just yet because he wants his wife in on it too. PRECIOUS!
There was a day this week where me and my companion had a bad feeling about what was going to happen. We felt like we needed to go home and pray about what we should do. We aren't quite sure what the danger was but we are glad we listened to the spirit. We decided it was Okay to work in the area close to home. I wish listening to the spirit was easier though. We did have a cool experience with the spirit though, were we got bunked a couple of times and didn't know what was best to do with our time and so we decided to pray to find someone who is ready to receive the gospel. We did, and all I could picture in my mind was these houses that we have never gone to before. We went and found said houses and inside was two guys our age named Lehlohonolo and Moeketsi. They were super ready. They asked so many questions that it was a little sad that we couldn't spend 8 ours with them! But we will go back probably tomorrow to follow up.
On sunday we had a baptism! Karabo was the first convert I began teaching and got to see baptised as well. His mother was so happy, she never expected to see him a member of the church.
I love this little country of Lesotho!!!! Thank you everyone for the support! I hope the water turns back on soon so I can take a shower!

Love youz guyz! have a good week:)

Zone conference and Zone comps

August 27, 2018

So I found a puppy this week! That is the most exciting news.

We had zone conference this week which means that President Thompson came down to Lesotho to boogie with us! Me and Elder Warner were asked to speak for 30 minutes on how to build good missionary habits. We did a pretty good job and had an Epic discussion.

Me and Elder warner have not been companions much this week. I went on an exchange with one of the zone leaders, Elder Ntaka, and we went around as I led the area. The day after we had zone conference, and then the day after that, we had a double booked day with twice as many missionaries. So, me and Elder Johnson from Idaho falls (in my group) went around and did some good work. It has been a weird week.

We Had district Conference as well and I got to participate in the choir (p.s. I am famous on lesotho social media now lol). One of our investigators, Robert, walked in and I was really filled with the spirit for some reason. Robert is a guy who is sincerely looking for truth, and when he walked in it was something else. We didn't expect it because most sundays he is trying to track a guy to fix his car haha.

my computer is being a pain in the bootay and I am running out of time. I love you all SO MUCH! Also, my mission just started a 120 day book of mormon reading challenge! all of you should join!

Sala hantle!!!
