ALMOST GOT OUR HEADS CUT OFF?? And yellow pap..

August 20, 2018

SOOOOOOOO the factory strikes were pretty bad this week. We actually had to stay inside one day because the people were going nuts! They are looking for a 58% pay increase! One of our white friends told us that the last time that this happened, they were cutting off peoples heads and sticking them on poles.... that is enough to make a grown man sick.

I am going full indian. We make curry and Roti's most nights, and I get super full. I'm gonna have to cut back on my intake or I'm going to get super thick.

Elder Warner and I have been meeting lots of new people and having lots of powerful lessons this week. We traveled out to Tsenola which is out in the sticks, and did 3 sweet things.

1.) We bought yellow pap.
2.) Found this cute puppy named Botlaki. She loves me and everytime we come by she runs to ME HAHAHA I love it so much.
3.) We had a lesson with a ward members brother and sister in law, Dlangamandla and Mathemba. We taught the plan of salvation and talked about how god loved us enough to send us to earth to go through challenges, even though sometimes it seems like he isn't there to help us. Testimony is so powerful though. It is called the plan of happiness for a reason and gives us so much hope. the lesson was straight power.

We were able to ride bikes out to Qoaling, which is even further than Tsenola. We got a call at the crack of dawn to travel out there to give a blessing to a lady. We rode out there and got lost but I had the feeling to turn down a random road and actually ended up in the exact spot I was searching for. The spirit works in amazing ways. There is no way that was luck.

Along with being indoors all day, we 4 missionaries created a deck of mahjong cards, and now we play on P-days. WOOT!

We have been running and eating a lot, so now I have to be really cautious to not do either of those two things or I'm going to be out of pants REAL quick. It is a good thing that I bought stretchy slacks. Best investment of my life.

So that is pretty much all that happened this week. Any questions from you guys?

Love you all!

What the, Hail?

August 13, 2018

Behold, my prayers have been answered. Kinda. But let me back you up on some stuff.

Elder homer, my Baba, is dead. I killed him (R.I.P) and it was super sad, but man did that guy endure to the end. I was super lucky to have him. He taught me so much in such a short amount of time.

We just had transfers and for the 2 days that my new companion was traveling to me on the Durban Express, I was with Elder Huff from Pocatello, Except not really. The dude got food poisoning and was comatose the toilet for those 2 days. I had to do emergency transfers with the Khubetsoana elders so I could still get to some of the appointments that I had planned. Everything is Kosher now though, because my new companion, Elder Warner, is here and we are busting our butts to get this work done. It is a little tough because I am leading the area, so this is just a roller coaster of experience.

The first day that Me and elder Warner were out doing missionary stuff, we got a call from the zone leaders who told us to stay in our areas and just tract around there for the day because apparently there was some civil unrest and people getting shot by the police force or something like that, so we just stayed around home all day and met some cool new people. late at night, we were talking to this woman just outside and just as she went back inside and we were about to go home but we just got blasted by a micro burst, so I turned to elder Warner and told him something bad is about to happen, and then it hailed and blew a million miles per hour and we had to run a mile back home in that weather. It was INSANE but it is the probable the closest we will get to snow, so I'm gonna count that as a prayer answered. I even made a snowball out of it! :)

So anyways, that is the warm welcome that Elder Warner received from Lesotho. But we have also met some pretty sweet people. There was one lesson this week where we talked to 8 guys going to University, and they wanted to know about hte book of Mormon, so we went inside, all 10 of us, and we read out of it and described how we could be better people by listening to the BOM. Another guy walked in who was a bible preacher, and he was complaining and arguing about how we don't need the bible and he was talking to his friends about the bible, and they were acutally defending the BOM!!!! It was so cool. They were already feeling the powerrrrr. That is 8 potential priesthood holder right there.

Anways, we are keeping warm and eating lots of food! I'm getting fat! but I love all ya'll!:) until next week.

From the Opposite end of the Earth

July 30, 2018

Weed is illegal but everyone smokes it here. Even the cops. There is a man who runs a truck shop that we run by every week and We stop to play chess with him on Pday if he meets the goal we give him to read in the book of Mormon. Whenever we pass him, he is reading the book, but he's also usually smoking a blunt. He Reeks of weed and he drinks a lot which makes him really slow in manner, but he is actually a really smart dude. Anyways, in sacrament mtg. yesterday, right before the prayer I looked around to see everyone who came, and he walked in and my eyes almost popped out of my head! I was so shocked but so happy! This gospel is about to change his life. What makes it better is the branch clerk who is also the nicest guy ever, was his classmate, so he showed him around the day. I sat by him in Gospel doctrines. I couldn't tell if I was high on the spirit or High from his scent lol.

We have been making Roti's a lot lately which is an Indian bread and we use it as a utensil to eat our Zebra meat and bean meals. This morning we woke up early to go teach a guy named Neo how to make them. He lost his job and is struggling now, so we are teaching him how to make a bunch of foods that he can make a food joint out of.

There is a surprising amount of white people around here and whenever we see one we punch eat other, kinda like when you see a volkswagen beetle. Today at the mall we saw a bunch of white girls and I punched Elder Homer like 6 times. He is gonna have a sore arm tonight because we saw like 40 today.

A few days ago we went to traveled to Ha Pita which is SUPER far away from where we stay just to see a man, Thabang. We took a taxi there, I accidentally fell asleep because taxi drivers keep their windows up with no AC and then I woke up getting dropped off in the middle of nowhere. I was very lost as to where we were lol. We called the man we were supposed to see and He WASN'T EVEN HOME even ThO hE SAid He WouLD bE. Missionary work can be stressful sometimes. It worked out though because we knocked on a house and actually met a woman, Nthabaleng, who is gonna get baptized now.

On the way home from Ha Pita, we Stopped at a store to get some food and it was run by a Chinese couple. They thought we were really nice, and gave us free gum then talked to us for a while about religion. They thought we were Jehovah witnesses, but don't worry. We Gave them pamphlets and taught them a lil sutm sutm

My jaw has been killing me but I'm pulling through! I love you all, and pray for you all the time:) I love this place, even though it is getting really hot!

Khotso!
